Though notifications are useful in many cases, some sites either refuse to respect user’s preferences or simply annoy them inadvertently. According to Mozilla, only 3% of all notification prompts are accepted, yet 18 million were shown in a month of the Firefox beta. This seems to indicate the use of the prompt when it isn’t particularly necessary, but Mozilla is proposing a few solutions. An Imperfect Solution In Nightly 68, Mozilla will disable user-facing notifications for two weeks....

On Windows and other platforms, CPU utilization is the literally an overview of what the central processing unit uses. It denotes the sum of all work being done by the CPU. Some tasks take more CPU time than others, but platforms like Windows use CPU utilization as an estimate for system performance. The problem is, CPU utilization is inaccurate because there is a discrepancy between how the Task Manager represents cores and what’s is actually available....

With this latest phishing attack, attackers are trying to trick unsuspecting users into giving their Office 365 details. McAfee researchers says the victims are “high profile companies”, with a focus on the entertainment, real estate, and tourism sectors. “The goal of malicious actors is to harvest as many credentials as possible, to gain access to potentially sensitive information and open the possibility of impersonation of staff, which could be very damaging to the company,” said Oliver Devane and Rafael Pena, in research released on Thursday....

Spanish online retailer Xtralife.es posted a listing for Project Scorpio that showed the price of the console. The listing revealed a launch price of 399.99 Euros (about US$430). The big talking point regarding the Galaxy Book S is that this is a Windows 10 on ARM machine. Samsung’s notebook is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8cx. Mayor is the man who discovered the first exoplanet known to mankind, Dimidium, on 6 October 1995. Project Discovery allows EVE Online players to review astronomical data from the CoRoT telescope. So far, the Surface Laptop has been a success for Microsoft. It was the company’s first ever true laptop and helped the Surface brand spread to more customers. The Creators Update adds some 770 new emojis to Windows 10. More specifically, the release includes 482 brand new emoji and 288 variations of interracial couples. The latter addition is significant as it makes Microsoft the first vendor to offer variations for interracial couples. If taking into account these variations, the Windows 10 Creators Update introduces 2,381 emojis. You may remember, the Anniversary Update offered more, with 1700 new emoji and 52,000 variations....
