This is a simple enough addition that allows users to access settings for notifications and actions more easily....

A report from WindowsUnited lists the known issues described so far. Among the problems facing the Windows 10 April 2018 Update are microphone, sound, and mouse bugs. The most likely scenario for these problems is they are unsupported driver issues. We expect Microsoft will quickly fix these through Patch Tuesday next week. The update released in October of 2017, so Microsoft has been slow to fix this issue, but users will be relieved all the same. In terms of processing on Windows 10 on ARM PCs, there has been plenty of movement this week. Qualcomm is reportedly working on a Snapdragon 850, which will be a dedicated CPU for Always Connected PCs. The company is already the core supplier of Windows 10 on ARM through its modified ARM-based Snapdragon 835. However, compromises made to the chip to get it to run on laptop hurt performance. While battery life improved considerably, reviews of the first generation Always Connected PCs were hardly impressive....

For the first time, Build 17643 introduces ‘Sets’ to Office Insiders. The feature makes it much easier to group, refresh and recall data sources by offering a tab-like interface. You can run Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more from a single window, saving switching between them on your taskbar. It also enables Sets for the majority of Win32 apps that use the default title bar. Aside from that, Microsoft has been working on small tweaks to make its features more streamlined....

Newer Windows 10 SDK packages are only supported by Visual Studio 2017, at least officially. However, this release can work alongside older SDKs without a problem. For example, this will work in a production environment, although users will have to target applications through a production licensed Windows 10. Of course, the big question through any new preview is what has been added to platform. Well, we don’t know is the answer because Microsoft has yet to release the changelog....

Those Online Service Experience Packs are part of a new Settings app section called Your Microsoft Account. This is similar to the account page on the web, but built directly into Windows 11. Users can see details on subscriptions, payment history, and so on. Microsoft is making some other changes to the Settings app on build 22489. Specifically, the app now splits the Apps & Features page into two separate pages (so, an Apps page and a Features page)....

Available to customers on Windows/Office enterprise E3 and higher, Windows Autopatch will bring firmware, driver, app, and feature updates to customers. Microsoft discussed the new tool at its Windows Hybrid virtual event this week, before expanding on the feature through a blog post. Arriving in July 2022, Autopatch is a managed service that links to Patch Tuesday but provides automatic patches when needed. This includes for Windows 10 and Windows 11 covering firmware and drivers, as well as Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Outlook....

In the aforementioned email, Yahoo informs its users that “[Yahoo’s] outside forensic experts have been investigating the creation of forged cookies that could allow an intruder to access users’ accounts without a password. Filed in July 2017 and published this week, the patent describes an AMD 7nm + architecture that is reportedly being developed under the codename Arcturus. It shows that the company is developing architecture to replace its aging Graphics Core Next (GCN).
