On June 22, the United States Supreme Court stated police in the country must now get an official warrant to tap cell tower data. Police forces around the US could previously use cell tower data to track the location of any person. Of course, this could be vital in catching a criminal, but would also invade privacy of innocents. The Supreme Court ruling followings the now famous Carpenter v. Since installing the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, users see apps like Calculator and other OS apps disappear. Interestingly, this is not the first time a new Windows 10 update has removed apps. In this case, the lost applications cannot be opened via the Start Menu or via Cortana. Over on the Microsoft community forum, a subset of users say the recent KB4517389 rollout is causing several issues. I say a subset of users because so far these issues seem to be limited to HP computers. The offending part of KB4517389 seems to be Intel Display Driver Update 26.20.100.7157. Among the problems the broken driver is causing include crossing out images on Microsoft Edge, blacked out Google Chrome, and dropping pixels....

Customers can choose between bundles featuring the Xbox One S or more powerful Xbox One X....

The functionality comes in the form of new options in the Settings section of the Xbox Insider Hub. Users can now close their account, which will delete all of their data, including poll responses, ratings, problem reports, screenshots, and DVR clips. Previously, users could un-enroll their console from the Insider program, but that left data behind. That’s no fun for privacy-conscious users and makes it harder to exercise GDPR rights....

However, chip giant Intel suggests the research is incorrect and its current security protection does prevent fresh Spectre attacks. In the paper, the researchers show how new Spectre attacks break through defenses put in place back in 2018 when the vulnerabilities first emerged. As with the original outbreak of the problem, all Intel chips manufactured over the last decade are included. Researchers dub the vulnerability a Spectre flaw because it has many of the same properties, including being built directly into processors....
