By leveraging deep learning tools, the Microsoft Research team including Bo Zhang and Ziyu Wan propose a triplet domain translation network. The technology combines real images with massive synthetic image pairs. Two variational autoencoders (VAEs) can separate clean photos and old photos into latent spaces. AI will then learn these two spaces with synthetic paired data. However, the team says solving degradation on old photos required a complex system that starts with learning texture transformer network for image super-resolution....

If you are not familiar with Aruba, it is a name Microsoft uses for the Surface Hub 2. The company is working on a sequel to its large conference-friendly Windows screen collaboration hardware. This suggests one of the Surface webcams will be for the Surface Hub 2. The clear candidate is the camera Microsoft is creating for Windows Hello. It makes sense and it will be interesting to see if one of the cams will be baked into Surface Hub or remain an accessory....

In opting for AMD, the company could be ditching Intel for the Surface Laptop 3. According to a report from WinFuture, the new 15-inch variant will be using AMD CPUs. That could mean the 13.5-inch variant will remain with Intel. We first touched on this possibility in June, when it emerged Microsoft could be working on an AMD-powered Surface. Microsoft has used Intel chips in its Surface hardware exclusively over the last five years....

Still, it seems the Microsoft will not be sending out Windows 10 Version 2004 to all customers just year. If that’s the case, the company has changed its plans. ZDNet reports Microsoft planned to send out Windows 10 20H1 to all users this week but decided to postpone the release. Now, a leak has shown the Action Center, Taskbar, and Launcher for Windows 10X. Interestingly, the Start menu experience will be different to the standard Windows 10 platform. Starting with the Windows 10X Launcher, the new experience will replace the Start menu. It will allow users to quickly jump to apps and perform searches. Included on the Launcher will be: Search bar – Microsoft will integrate its revamped Windows 10 search experience into the Launcher....
