Specifically, USB 3.2 creates a new multi-lane operation on capable devices, allowing them to work with any existing Type-C cable. Previous iterations have been single lane from hosts to devices. Several Windows 10 features and integrations have been announced for Chrome since Microsoft joined Chromium. The reason for cross-browser integration is because both Microsoft and Chrome are now working on Chromium. We can expect to see Edge features land on Chrome, and Chrome features to come to Edge. So much so, at some point it may be harder to tell the two browsers apart. We are not there yet, but more Windows 10 tools are coming to Chrome....

Now, Microsoft has announced a new feature for its Power BI service, called ‘View Related Content’. Thanks to this new feature, users will be able to quickly and easily check out content that is related to the report, dashboard, or dataset they are looking at. The new feature is already available in all regions as a preview. That said, users should be aware that bugs might show up. Microsoft encourages users to provide feedback in the Power BI community forums....

The marketing chief confirmed the event via Twitter and it seems this year will follow the pattern of previous FanFest events. As ZDNet notes, a recent survey by Kentik saw 40% of organizations using more than one provider. The 310 business large survey was published earlier this year from quizzing at an AWS event, so is naturally biased. RightScale’s numbers say 84% of its respondents use multi-cloud strategy, with an average of close to 5 clouds. Much of this is down to the slightly different strategies of providers. This year, Microsoft has been moving increasingly into AI, and that’s where much of the difference is....

More than that, Outlook.com is receiving a revamped Mail section that looks different. In the coming weeks, the new Mail interface will come to all users with its updated UI and added features. Among them is Skype integration after Microsoft re-introduced the service to Outlook.com in January. Performance will be quicker and add-ins can be added to Outlook easier. Users will be able to integrate services like Evernote, PayPal, and more in a more efficient way....
