As the name of the device suggests, the Vive Wireless Adapter will allow users to wear their headset free from cables. The hugely popular video social app/site is under investigation in the United States for failing to moderate CSAM. According to the Financial Times, the company is being investigated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which is looking into how it handles child abuse content. Furthermore, the Department of Justice (DoJ) is investigating how predators may be abusing a privacy feature on TikTok. The DHS claims TikTok is the social platform of choice for predators, likely because of its huge popularity and wide userbase of younger people....

Called the Legion BootStation, the eGPU enclosure can hold a graphics card up to 330mm in length. By developing this component and announcing it alongside the Legion Y740S, Lenovo is charting a course for Razer as a direct competitor. The Microsoft-owned platform has over 300 million monthly active users. While it’s arguable LinkedIn’s business-centric model does not make it as open to hate speech as Facebook or Twitter, the platform faces its own specific issues with fake profiles. In a blog post, software engineer Daniel Gorham explains LinkedIn previously used human curators to find words and phrases on a block list. If words or phrases were found that breached terms of service, a profile would be taken down....

In an official blog post, Malwarebytes points out it is not a user of SolarWinds apps. However, the company was breached through another vector that has already been compromised. The attack came from already breached apps that had access to Microsoft 365 and Azure services. Malwarebytes does use those two Microsoft services. Attackers were able to access “a limited subset of internal company emails” but not any production systems. Malwarebytes worked directly with the Microsoft Detection and Response Team (DART) to find the attack, says CEO Marcin Klecynski: “Together, we performed an extensive investigation of both our cloud and on-premises environments for any activity related to the API calls that triggered the initial alert....

Belfiore, Corporate Vice President of Windows, took to Twitter to describe the situation. He explains that the company can no longer justify feature support when the app gap remains a problem. The executive says Microsoft has consistently tried to entice developers, but investment in the platform has been lacking. Tasking features will also come to Outlook with an updated Microsoft To-Do integration. To trick IT and software staff, the threat actors are using fake job posts that entice people. In some ways, the hack preys on employment mobility in tech and business. Microsoft APT says the phishing attack is being perpetrated by a group with links to the North Korea military. It is worth noting this is the same group that was behind the infamous Sony Pictures Entertainment hack of 2014. Adding to the warning, the Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC) says the group uses Sumatra PDF Reader, KiTTY, muPDF/Subliminal Recording, TightVNC, and PuTTY to carry the malware....
