Accompanied by the virtual Doctor in a virtual TARDIS (the Doctor’s time-traveling machine), users will have to solve a series of puzzles, quizzes, and other challenges. What makes the game even more interesting is the fact that it will be episodic. What that means is that every Sunday at 6 p.m. British Summer Time (BST) -10 a.m. Pacific- the companies will release a new chapter. In the blog post, the Skype Team informs users that six adventures will be published, during which users will interact with the Doctor through text, videos, and gifs. In addition, a new series of Doctor Who emojis have been added to Skype, available for download. Below you can watch the promo video that BBC Worldwide has published:
Getting started
Understandably, in order to start playing, you have to own a Skype account. Users who wish to add the Doctor Who bot on Skype should follow these steps:
“Search for “Doctor Who Bot” in the Skype Bot Directory Read and accept the bot’s profile and terms Click “Add to Contacts””
Additionally, the Skype team prompts users to check the brand new series of Doctor Who, sending them to the BBC Worldwide page for Doctor Who. You can go to that page by clicking here. This bot is the second high-profile one that Skype has released in recent weeks for the U.K. market. Back in April, Skype released its first cooking bot with British celebrity chef, Heston Blumenthal. You can learn more about that bot, here.
