That is the Wave 2 cycle this year for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform updates. If you are unfamiliar with Microsoft update schedule for the platforms, it is handled into two yearly releases. These are called waves and Wave 1 happens from early in the year and Wave 2 starts later in the year, overlapping into the next year. Ahead of full releases, Microsoft previews features from each wave. It is worth noting waves is a solid description of the updates because they comprise hundreds of changes for both platforms, some major and many minor. In terms of Dynamics 365 releases for Wave 2 2021, Microsoft has hundreds of changes planned. These new features will cover areas of the Dynamics module covering Customer Service, Sales, Finance, Operations, Marketing, Commerce, Field Service, Human Resources, Customer Insights, Connected Store, Project Operations, Customer Voice, Supply Chain Management and more.
New Feature Plans
There are also plans to add new features covering the growing portfolio of vertical cloud solutions, including Cloud for Nonprofits, Cloud for Healthcare, and Cloud for Financial Services. On the Power Platform side, Microsoft has changes planned for Power Apps, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents, AI Builder, and Power Automate. It is worth remembering the majority of the new “features” will be changes most users won’t even notice. While it is easy to presume Wave releases bringing sweeping changes, that is not really the case. Still, you will find some interesting and big new features jumbled in the mix. Some features are now rolling out in early access this week. Tip of the day: Did you know that a virtual drive on Windows 10 can help you with disk management for various reasons? A virtual drive is just simulated by the platform as a separate drive while the holding file might be stored anywhere on your system . The data in the drive is available in files or folders, which are represented by software in the operating system as a drive. In our tutorial we show you different ways how to setup and use such virtual drives.
