First among them is support for calling external numbers. Companies with Enterprise Voice can call externally. Microsoft has also tweaked the Assignments tab to make it available in classroom environments. Students and teachers can access the tab from class teams. Microsoft Teams also has some UI improvements. For example, a simple swipe on an iPhone in the chat menu will hide the selected chat from the list. Aside from that, there are also the obligatory bug fixes on v1.0.29.

Expanding Microsoft Teams
We expect Microsoft Teams to gain plenty of major features throughout 2018. Back in September, the company announced Skype for Business will integrate into Teams to create one service. This not happening in one go, with features migrating from Skype to Teams over time. Microsoft released a roadmap for the migration in October. Features coming this year include PSTN Conferencing is becoming Audio Conferencing, Cloud PBX will be simply Phone System, and PSTN Calling will now be known as Calling Plan. Skype for Business is currently the market leading choice for organizations conducting enterprise-based chat. Last year, we reported on a survey by IT network Spiceworks that found Skype is comfortably in the lead, followed by Google Hangouts and Slack.
