While taking to the stage at Samsung’s Unpacked Galaxy Note 10 launch today, Microsoft pointed to an upcoming feature that will allow users to receive calls on Your Phone. This will mean when a call comes through to a device being mirrored, the user can take the call on their Windows PC. Microsoft did not offer specifics on how this feature will work and we are interested to see if users can also make calls from their PC without touching their smartphone. “Later this year, we are planning to introduce the ability to make and receive mobile calls directly from your PC. Accept the call, reply with a text, or send the caller to voicemail right from your PC,” Microsoft said.
Notifications
In recent months we have seen Your Phone become the functional tool it promised to be at launch. In July, Microsoft announced the ability to receive notifications from an Android device to PC. Adding notifications feels like a natural progression and provides more power to Your Phone. Users are now getting a near complete experience, allowing total access of their device on a PC. The next obvious step is for Microsoft to allow users to take action on those notification on Windows. For example, with the July update, users can see notifications from WhatsApp but cannot reply on their Windows 10 PC.
