According to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, this feature is in development but is still in the earliest stages. The company thinks the payment integration in Microsoft Teams will provide organizations with a ready-to-go option for requesting and taking payments in Teams. Importantly, the feature will be an official part of Teams and not require a third party. Devices around the globe are increasingly becoming interconnected through the Internet of Things. While being able to connect to devices throughout the home or workplace, IoT has also created a huge attack surface for hackers to target. Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center says the Russian-based hacks started in April. They were likely conducted by the group known as Fancy Bear (also called Strontium). You may remember the group has been significant in supporting the Russian government with hacks such as against the Democratic National Committee in 2016....

The report claims no finalized decision has been made, although Microsoft wants to charge more to hardware with higher specifications. While it is not certain, the company has been moving towards this plan. Last year new licensing models were announced, which were based on CPU configurations. OEMs will be charged depending on the quality of components in their products. For example, a laptop with high-end CPU, memory, and display technology would cost more to license than a lesser machine....

While many frequent Windows flyers may know this, most average users are confused by what a KB is. As a consequence, they don’t know what to do when they see a KB update in the Windows 10 setup. Microsoft realizes this is a problem and will launch a simpler system with Windows 10 19H1 this spring. OneDrive users are getting some features that we have seen before on the Office Lens application. Among those additions are major changes to the scan ability. With the updated scan feature, users will be able to crop and clean scans automatically. Version 0.10 of the Windows Terminal app does little to expand functionality, highlighting how Microsoft is preparing for the version 1.0 release. Still, there are some interesting new abilities added to the app. For a start, Microsoft now makes it possible to duplicate a current pane. The duplicate will create a clone of the current pane instead of defaulting to the same profile. Elsewhere in Version 0.10, Microsoft says there is now mouse support in Windows Subsystem for Linux apps....

The update was announced through Reddit by the Principal Product Manager Lead for xCloud Services Jim Cohen. If you’re unfamiliar with xCloud, before it became Xbox Cloud Gaming the service was known as Project xCloud. In his post, Cohen says Linux playing Xbox Cloud Gaming through a browser will see improved resolutions and streams will generally run smoother. The same goes for Google’s always-connected platform Chrome OS. Unfortunately, Cohen does not say what specifically Microsoft has done to boost performance....

Specifically, Microsoft wants to add URL Protocol Handler Registration support for PWAs on Chromium. If a PWA is registered with the URL Protocol Handler, the app will open when the user clicks a hyperlink with a scheme such as web+music://. XorDDoS is not a new botnet. It has been around for eight years and is a network of Linux machines that attackers use to deploy distributed denial of service (DDoS) threats. This attack is known for automated password-guessing attacks on Linux servers. The goal is to locate matching admin credentials on Secure Shell (SSH) servers. If you are unfamiliar with SSH servers, they are a secure network communication protocol that remote systems use....

The feature is available through an update to the Wireless Display app. As well as supporting PC games, the app also allows Steam titles to be played directly on Xbox One. Hicham Kabbaj of Floral Park, Long Island, New York, pleaded guilty in front of prosecutors on Friday. He admitted one charge of wire fraud and could face up to 20 years in jail. However, it is predicted federal district Judge Richard Berman will pass a more lenient sentence later this year. “Today, Mr. Kabbaj pled guilty to a serious felony because he chose to misuse his position of trust as a corporate executive to steal company funds for his own personal gain,” said Jonathan Larson, the Internal Revenue Service special agent in charge of the case....

In its announcement, Microsoft cited a recent Forrester report that shows C-level executives are prioritizing employee productivity. Workplace Analytics will provide in-work analysis to show how employees are behaving and how productive they are. Microsoft hopes to drive effectiveness in the workplace with important insights for organizations to assess. The service taps into Office 365 email and calendar metadata, such as to and from interactions and timestamps. Organizations can use the resulting data to see how employees spend their time....

The pack also arrives with 26 new skins for gamers to enjoy. Furthermore, a new game texture has been added to add vivid color to building blocks. Kubernetes clusters in Windows container work over Linux to help customers manage cloud services. Unit 42, the zero-day wing of Palo Alto Networks, says Siloscape was spotted by researchers in March. It was given its name because it focuses on trying to compromise Windows containers and then escape through the server silo. Threat actors access the command-and-control (C2) server through a .onion domain. On C2, attackers can manage Siloscape, including sending attack commands and extract data....

According to the Financial Times, Oracle has already held talks with ByteDance, the Chinese owner of TikTok. Sources suggest the company is serious about acquiring the app. The report says the firm is working with investors in the United States who have previously invested in ByteDance. This could give Oracle an advantage despite many assuming Microsoft led the race to acquire TikTok. Donald Trump wants to remove the company from the United States....

Now it seems that the so-called Snapdragon 1000 will not be a jacked up mobile processor. Instead it could be a fully independent CPU for laptops. This would be an interesting development because it would mark Qualcomm’s first entry into the dedicated laptop market. The company has enjoyed enormous success in mobile. Indeed, Qualcomm is the name most think of when considering mobile processing. That’s because its Snapdragon chips power the majority of smartphones, from budget to flagship....

Still, the company’s folding screens have come a long way since Project YOUM five years ago. Of course, the South Korean company has often led the way in terms of smartphone displays. In a blog post this week, the team says the cybercriminal fingerprinting technique has uncovered two authors selling Windows local privilege escalation (LPE) exploits. Both are thought to have already sold exploits to Russian attacks groups. Check Point says fingerprinting was developed after a customer incident. Specifically, the team found a 64-bit executable during an attack on a client. Once the file was checked, researchers found it was hosting rare debug strings....
