The latest version of To-Do has a custom snooze option that should address demands. Version 14.5.98 for Android contains the addition. Here’s are the full changelog: “[IMPROVEMENT] Custom snooze options [FIX] Accessibility: Do not announce due date added when picker is open for the first time [FIX] When we select a reminder and there isn’t a due date, set the due date to the reminder day.” It’s not clear if the iOS app also got this feature, though it did receive an unrelated update today....

The Bing Custom API was introduced at Build 2017 and allows organizations to create custom Bing search engines. Microsoft used its Cognitive Services platform to create Bing Custom API. The company teases the Custom API for Ignite in a blog post: “See how easy it is to set up and deploy a highly-customized, targeted web search experience, which simplifies managing site search and vertical search for your business.” Microsoft has given companies the ability to create engines that match their needs....

Specifically, the company is slowing development of several native Windows 10 applications. A report by Thurrott suggests applications like Weather and Stocks will be slowly shuttered and development will slow down. It seems to be Microsoft is focusing on native apps that are hardly essential. That means major services like OneNote will be fine, while apps like Mail and Calendar fall under Outlook’s umbrella. The real question here is why Microsoft is doing this to some apps?...

Sway is a digital storytelling tool that allows users to create designs and publish them with simple tools. Microsoft has said the abilities of Sway will suit the needs of beginners and semi-professional. With the latest release, Microsoft has introduced the ability to print in Sway. Users now has a two-click path to be able to print their work. Export is also available, allowing projects to be moved to PDF or Word....

According to Microsoft, the malware is hard to detect but can be found and removed: “Malicious IIS extensions are less frequently encountered in attacks against servers, with attackers often only using script web shells as the first stage payload. This leads to a relatively lower detection rate for malicious IIS extensions compared to script web shells. IIS backdoors are also harder to detect since they mostly reside in the same directories as legitimate modules used by target applications, and they follow the same code structure as clean modules....

Microsoft watcher, Brad Sams, has reported the company will undertake a Windows 10 team reorganization once Redstone 5 is in the wild. That is going to happen very soon. Microsoft has already confirmed Win10 version 1809 is officially the October 2018 Update. September is the finalization month for the updated. The company is expected to send the release to manufacturing (RTM) build for Redstone 5 to Windows Insiders on September 21....

Specifically, Minecraft server partners Lifeboat, InPvP and Mineplex are running Halloween-themed events. The game developers promise “There will be tricks! There will be treats! Minigames! Themed cosmetic items! Pets! Pumpkins!” Starting with Lifeboat, the server says users will see a tiny skeleton that will be “wandering round” the game lobby. This skeleton will transform with spider infestations, pumpkins, and glowing green water. If a player kills the skeleton, they will get a cave spider zombie jockey that will act as a pet....

However, it appears that OSX Dok has transformed and is “phishing” for bank accounts. Check Point security researchers explain in a blog post that the macOS virus is mimicking major bank sites. The fake sites prompt the users to install an application on their mobile devices which could lead to further infection and data leakage. The team behind the mac malware is distributing the macOS virus through a combination of phishing and MITM (man in the middle) attacks....

Axie Infinity hosts over 3 million traders of in-game NFTs and is one of the most popular of its kind. However, attackers were able to breach the system using a spear-phishing attack. A report from The Block says attackers – thought to be linked to North Korea – stole $540 million in cryptocurrency. The attack happened on March 23rd when the group was able to take private keys associated with four validator nodes....

Now, noted Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, claims that Apple might be readying its ARM Mac for release in 2021. He says the device will launch next year with a proprietary CPU. Kuo believes Cupertino will launch the device in the next 12 to 18 months. Considering Mac devices are typically launched in spring or autumn, that timeline makes sense. It is worth noting Kuo has previously predicted Apple will get on board with ARM-based computing....

It is worth noting that the tweet does not say that the exclusive will be the console’s specs. Either way, it is good to know we are going to get new concrete information on the new Xbox. Equally, the technology could even change numerous industries and improve our way of life. Qualcomm’s Tim Leland says extended reality still faces challenges and industry collaboration is key for development. He issued the statement while speaking at the Augmented World Expo recently. Thankfully, the game may have a second chance. ReCore: Definitive Edition is now available to pre-order on the Microsoft Store. So far, the company has not acknowledged the issue publicly, despite its first report on October 11. However, user Tim Higgison of Infomedia Ltd. says a fix is in progress. “Microsoft Business Support indicates the issue has been acknowledged by the product group and they are working on a solution,” he writes. In the meantime, the error, which appears to be linked to VBRUN300.DLL, prevents apps from running. The only mitigation right now is to uninstall the update....

The Muraena reverse proxy combines with a Docker-based tool called Necrobrowser for automating headless Chromium instances. Using Muraena, which is written in Go, attackers can configure their domain for a legitimate Let’s Encrypt certificate. A web works as a reverse proxy and pulls regular 2FA resources from a legitimate site. The end result is that a user can visit a phishing site with a real certificate and enter their 2FA code with no warnings....
