In response to a support Google Play review, the agent said: “Samsung Flow is compatible with TabPro S now. But it will support all Windows 10 PCs from Windows 10 next major update (estimated early April). Thank you.” The app also lets users read their TabPro S notifications from an Android smartphone and reply from their PC. It’s not clear how much of this functionality will be coming to desktops, but it’s possible all of it will be included.
Closing the Windows-Android Gap
The feature is made possible through Microsoft’s Windows Hello Framework. Combined with the recent release of the Project Rome SDK for Android, users could have considerable control over their Windows device from Android. Project Rome will let developers build in functionality such as music, video, and other controls into Android apps. With the recent decline of Windows 10 Mobile, it seems like a smart move by Microsoft. The recent support from Samsung will only strengthen the cross-platform ecosystem. Reports suggest the company makes up 31.1% of global smartphone shipments, so the functionality will come to a good number of people. Samsung Flow for Windows 10 will require Bluetooth 4.1 and the following smartphones:
